Dos 32 senadores eleitos, 14 se declaram negros

Do total de 32 senadores eleitos no último domingo, 14 se declaram negros. A Casa é composta por 81 parlamentares e disse não ter um levantamento oficial a respeito da declaração de cor dos senadores que foram escolhidos no pleito anterior.

Para o Senado, dos 35 candidatos que se declararam pretos, apenas três foram eleitos: Weverton (PDT-MA), Mecias de Jesus (PRB-RR) e Paulo Paim (PT-RS) que se reelegeu para mais um mandato. Entre pardos, 75 se candidataram ao Senado e apenas 11 se elegeram por Alagoas, Ceará, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Pará, Pernambuco, Rondônia, Roraima, Santa Catarina e Sergipe.
